KINGSTONIANS

Alumni. Community. Development

As a KGS alumni organisation Lovekyn Chantry Masonic Lodge number 6807 should, we feel be included in range of KGS Alumni activities, for in its set up it is unique in several ways. It was founded in Kingston upon Thames in 1949 by the then  KGS Headmaster and a number of past pupils of Kingston Grammar School, and has met in the School, since its foundation.  It has in the main over these ensuing years been an Old Kingstonian pupils Masonic Lodge.  However, in recent years  it has become open to parents, staff, and local interested persons; but it is still unique, as it is the only Masonic Lodge which meets in Kingston, and indeed right in the centre at our beloved Lovekyn Chantry Chapel. Here it holds regular informal meetings every Monday evening from September to May and after every regular Lodge meeting will dine in the first-class restaurant, the Canbury Arms just a few minutes’ walk away. As with all Masonic lodges its members come from a diverse professional background and whilst most of our members live in the Kingston area if you can travel to Kingston there’s no barrier.

We have the feeling that there are many of our alumni who are already members of the masonic movement and to them we would welcome you to be our guest at a future meeting and to those KGS alumni who feel that this very worthwhile, charitable and life improving organisation could be something which they would like to explore do you get in touch with John Snelling  at john.snelling9@icloud.com and he will be very happy to meet or talk to you and discuss the possibilities which are always open to  you.

Without doubt as prospective members with a personal history in Kingston and KGS, you would  find that this unique combination of attributes makes for an interesting and very satisfying lifetime enhancing experience, so why not  give it a try?
