Alumni news

Sturgeon cricket was once again a fantastic event bringing together both very recent alumni and those that have been away from KGS for some time.

The alumni team batted first and flew off the mark setting 145/7 off their 20 overs. Joe Woodcock (Kingstonian 2018) was the alumni top run scorer on the day with 60 runs. The school team got off to a good start and fought hard in changing conditions. Roshaan Sornalingam (Kingstonian 2025) put up a valiant effort with 43 runs. On the day however it was the bowling prowess of James Hall (Kingstonian 2018) that limited the school team on the day bowling 3 overs 8/2. At the end of their 20 overs the school team were 120/8 and the Sturgeon Alumni team were victorious.

James Gordon (Kingstonian 1979) was on hand to present the awards. Most importantly the Sturgeon award went to Tom Price (Lower Sixth) who bowled 4 overs for a score of 20/2. We want to say a big thank you to all of the staff, students, parents and alumni for their support for this event.

Save the date in your diaries for 2026 - Friday 12th of June 2026!

2026 is also 20 years of Sturgeon Cricket and we are hoping we can put together a team of female alumna to play a school team so please keep an eye on newsletters in the new year for information.
