We are delighted that KGS students are once again celebrating superb A Level results, having exceeded the record results achieved by last year’s cohort. 74% of all grades were A*/A, of which 33% were A*. In total, 98% of all grades were A*-C. Given the national picture of a reduction in top grades being awarded over recent years, this year’s results for the students at Kingston Grammar School are a very real testament to the hard work and commitment of all the students and staff.

Particular congratulations go to Joe and Joshua, who achieved 4 A*s, and to William, Sebastian, Charlotte, Tomoki, Noah, Ben, Dylan, Isabel, Kamini, Sophia, Priyam, Jonatan, Aidan, Maddie, and Ollie, who all achieved 3 A*s. Ollie’s achievements are potentially all the more impressive having been achieved whilst captaining the U18 England Hockey Team.

Sixty-five students – half of the entire cohort - achieved a clean sweep of A*/A grades.

With these excellent results in hand, our students will now be embarking on the next stage of their educational journey at some of the best universities in the UK and across the world. Over 80% will be taking up places at Russell Group universities, having gained entry to some of the most competitive courses and institutions.

Henry and Maddie will be taking up places at Oxford to read Classics at St Hilda’s College and Biochemistry at Hertford College respectively.  A number will be taking up places at Cambridge, including Joseph who will read Modern & Medieval Languages at Trinity Hall, Joshua who is reading Engineering at Robinson College, and Luke who will read Land Economy at Sidney Sussex College.

With high application numbers nationwide for competitive medical-related courses, we are delighted that Joe, Hannah and Sophia will be taking up places to study Medicine at Exeter, Dundee and Imperial College respectively. Priyam is going on to study Dentistry at King’s College London, Dilly will read Veterinary Medicine at Liverpool, and Matthew will be studying Physiotherapy at Southampton.

Increasing numbers of students are taking up places on courses at prestigious overseas universities, which this year include English at McGill University, Montreal for Skye, Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto for Charlie, International Studies at the University of Washington, Seattle for Anne, and Civil & Environmental Engineering at Duke University, North Carolina for Judah.

Head Master Stephen Lehec said:“I am hugely proud of this group of wonderful young people who have not only shown immense dedication to their academic studies but have also added so much to the wider life of the School. They have shared their talents on the stage and the sports field, undertaken numerous leadership roles, and given up their time, demonstrating enormous compassion in mentoring younger students and supporting the wide range of community service activities that are so important to our school’s ethos and philosophy. These highly successful and caring students are truly what makes Kingston Grammar School so special.

We say farewell to them as students, now welcoming them as alumni, and wish them every happiness and success as they take their next steps.  We hope and trust that they will always continue to ‘work well and be happy’.”
